Cohort: YLP 5 (2019)
Hany Anan is an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at the American University of Beirut, minoring in Mathematics.
Since high school, Hany was passionate about serving his community by participating in many community service and volunteering programs.
His hard work and passion for a better future helped him to receive a full university scholarship to study at AUB provided by ULYP (Unite Lebanon Youth Project).
During his university years, Hany gave more than 20 mentoring and training programs for youth about social innovation, entrepreneurship, and using technologies for social good.
He also worked on helping hundreds of students to apply to universities and scholarship through personal initiatives and workshops.
In 2019, Hany was described by Hult Prize as “The student who saw his success in making all students succeed!”
About the Alumni experience
Hany’s participation in the UNDP Youth Leadership Programme helped him to progress in his personal and career level. Through the skills he learnt in YLP, he was able to move his startup idea from just an idea to implementation phase and started providing services to the public. Additionally, his participation helped him to receive a pool of national and international opportunities like participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Thailand, and in the New York University Abu Dhabi Hackathon in additional to a number of opportunities locally.
As YLP Alumni, he got the chance to be part of the YLP Lebanon Alumni board members and to be more engaged in serving the community and at the same time learn from the YLP Family and the UNDP team and partners.
